This essence was made late in the summer when teasel, artemisia, Canada thistle, knapweed, Canada goldenrod, and St. John's Wort are in bloom in Spokane, Washington, and when bees, paper wasps, and hummingbirds are busy pollinating flowers. This essence was made on a very hot, dry, and intensely sunny day.
Stasis, emotional or spiritual paralysis, a foreboding sense of something good about to end, dread of the future, dread of a major life change, difficulty with transitions.
This essence is for the times in our lives where there is an imminent shift from dark to light, or from light to dark; when we are facing a terrifying or heart-breaking future after a happy, safe, comfortable period in our lives.
This essence is also appropriate for children and adults who would like to develop a more easygoing, flexible attitude toward daily transitions, such as from play to work and from intensity to slowness.
