We are here to serve you as an essence apothecary. We attend to every step of the essence making and storing process so that you can procure the essences you need for your practice knowing that they are potent, stable, and they work. We make our flower and gem essences in the Bach tradition. They are sun infused (with a few exceptions, when they are full-moon infused). Our essences contain 22% alcohol, and we use high quality brandy (organic when available) as a preservative. Our essences are stored in amber glass bottles in closed wooden cabinets in a designated peaceful room.
The essence properties can be a source of confusion in the small flower and gem essence world, and for customers. There tends to be agreement when it comes to the healing properties of just a handful of essences, such as white yarrow being traditionally used for psychic protection. When it comes to a great majority of essences, though, opinions vary dramatically. We want to clarify our stance on the essence properties we describe: our essence descriptions are derived from our founder Ava Zhan's research (reading books by highly experienced herbalists and flower essence practitioners and studying with some of them in person or long-distance) and on Ava's clinical work with private clients, and to some degree are also based on intuitive reading from the plant or gem's signatures and their vibrations. We stay away from proclamations, and in fact you may find that some essences are described only very briefly, leaving it up to you to decide whether a given plant is worth your private investigation. We expand the essence descriptions only after we have gained a level of experience and clarity about a given essence. We do not repeat what others state about more commonly available essences, such as calendula or blue cornflower, and only express our own findings and experience.
When infusing essences, we strive to give the flower or gem space to create its medicine; we do not attempt to impose a direction or even an intention, only offer a caring hand. For this reason, if a practitioner wants to use any essence in their own way based on their own take on the healing properties, they are free to do so. We recommend that practitioners use 15 to 30 drops of each stock essence to make a dosage bottle for a client to ensure a strong dosage level blend.
