Sun Infusion Essence Blend

Sold out

Round yellow flowers often make us think of the sun and make us smile. This essence blend is intended for the times when the skies are dark—maybe from insufficient sunlight, maybe from trying experiences. For this blend of nine essences Ava chose a few classic flowers for uplifting the mood (St. John's wort and sunflower), but also a few others that address the core problem from many angles. Dandelion flower essence strengthens the digestion and blood, and it cleanses the liver, in effect making one feel stronger and more attuned to gut feelings. Tansy is one of the few flowers that bloom with full force and maintain erect five- to seven-foot stems in hot, dry, and sun-flooded August in Eastern Washington: they thrive in this weather, while many other flowers wilt.

Indications

Winter blues, depression, lacking optimism; feeling dejected, discouraged, or hopeless; dreading cold, dark winters; longing for sunny days during the fall, winter, and spring; low physical stamina; seeking more perseverance and endurance in all aspects of life.

Emotional and spiritual effects

This is a blend of mostly yellow summer flowers with energies of power, stamina, self-sufficiency, endurance, and stability. Several of the plants here grow more than six feet tall in our rocky meadows and backyards without the support of a watering system: namely, tansy and woolly mullein. These flowers give us strength, confidence, and an ability to ignore pettiness, jealousy, bickering, or gossiping, and allow us to focus on what is positive in our lives, what we are good at, and on where we are going.

Ava added wild white yarrow essence for protection for the people who become drained and depressed because they take on too much from others around them. White yarrow essence is like a shield of white light; it bounces off what is burdensome and unhelpful. Yellow primrose was included in this blend because some types of depression have roots in our childhoods, and even as adults we may carry saddening memories of being made to feel guilty, worthless, or shameful. Woolly mullein is a survivor weed whose leaves don't suffer damage from freezing cold or snow, as this plant generates its own heat: you may see intact rosettes of mullein leaves in the spring after the snow has melted. The star of this blend is tansy, the flower that looks like a parasol made up of sun-charged batteries.

Sources

St. John's wort is well covered in herbal literature as an herb indicated for winter blues and overall for depression (see for example the books of Matthew Wood).

Let the sun shine!

I feel that this essence is so well named, as it truly embodies the warmth and light of the sun. When my sensitive empath son is getting a little cranky, I just put a drop of this on his tongue and it changes everything. It’s like the sun breaks through the clouds of his mood and his energy shift towards the light- Hope, joy, and the present moment come forth. I have the same experience when I take it and have also started giving it to my husband when he is struggling. I can’t recommend this essence enough!
