Our Grow with Confidence blend was borne out of several mothers' requests for a flower essence blend for children whose appetites were low, who were small or very slim for their ages, or who were very picky eaters, as well as children who seemed vulnerable to bullies or felt very intimidated by the strong, forceful, big, or authoritative personalities in their lives. It is not a coincidence that these two areas can be connected, as each of them points to a weakness in the symbolic spleen organ based on Chinese medicine. The spleen is the organ of digestion, and it corresponds to the emotion of worry. Children and adults with weakened spleens tend to worry a lot! This part of the body is associated with the third chakra or solar plexus, which is the seat of our individuality and self-confidence. If this area is out of balance, a person may feel less confident.
An excellent blend for children and youth who are growing, and for anyone who has impaired or weak digestion, low appetite, or low physical strength. It helps personalities vulnerable to bullies and other forceful energies.
The essences Ava chose for this blend can have a dramatic effect on a child or adult's level of self-confidence and sense of personal power. Shy or introverted people often find themselves at ease in settings that previously made them anxious or paralyzed from shyness, and they become more open to new friendships and new experiences. The two spiky warriors, echinacea and teasel, make it easy to stand one's ground, to say no, or to say yes, depending on what the person's wish is.
We have had tremendous and lasting success with children who were given this essence in hopes of increasing their appetites. The children began to eat more, even asking for seconds, and to eat a wider variety of foods, with more interest in flavors other than just sweet. While we have not had many adult requests yet for an essence for increasing appetite, the few cases we have had also saw success with this blend, with the adult wanting to cook more, experiencing less nausea or none at all around food, and not minding a range of cooking smells anymore. In all cases, we asked the clients to take the essence two to three times a day for at least a month, either internally or by misting above their heads. One note for parents who may be used to their finicky eater being passive, shy, and compliant: in the first days or weeks of taking this essence, the child may surprise you with new, assertive aspects of their personality coming out of the dark. The child may suddenly have the courage to become angry or to shout an insult. It is usually a temporary overcompensation and an emotional discharge, and things should settle down fairly quickly. However, bear in mind that it still may take an adjustment to get used to a healthy child who has sweet sides and also moments or outbursts of anger or other stronger emotions (the child may no longer seem as "easy"). In case you are ever worried, a flower essence or a blend cannot "plant" new personality traits; all it can do is move the kundalini energy and uncover aspects of one's personality that were previously suppressed.
Shake the bottle before each use. Take 3 drops at a time onto the tongue or mixed with water 3–4 times a day, between meals and not with herbs or coffee. If using a mist, shake the bottle and spray above your head or around a space of your choice two times a day, or more often if desired. Store away from sun exposure and excessive heat, but not in the fridge or freezer, and away from strongly scented substances.
